      <image:title>About - A love for writing.</image:title>
<image:caption>Honing House was started by American writer Daniel J. Cecil. In English, “honing” is the act of refining or perfecting something over time. In Dutch, “honing” means honey, evoking thoughts of sweetness and warmth, but also the hive and the community that thrives there. These two meanings represented what Honing House is all about—a dedication to perfecting our craft while also creating and enjoying the buzz literature can create. About Daniel J. Cecil Daniel’s work has appeared in numerous publications including The Rumpus, The Heavy Feather Review, The LA Review of Books, Barrelhouse, the Plant, and The Stranger, among others. His works has been long-listed for the Dzanc Fiction Prize, nominated for a Pushcart, and has received the support of several residencies. Daniel received a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from the University of Washington (UW), Seattle, where he also taught fiction for five years. He currently teaches travel writing at Emerson College’s Limburg campus. To learn more about Daniel’s thoughts on writing and pedagogy, check out his newsletter Dispatches from the Honing House.</image:caption>
